About Turkish Meyhane Raki Table
The Aegean meyhane of 1950–1990 was an indigo-walled coastal tavern where cloudy raki — "lion's milk" — louches white against deep Cycladic cobalt, and a marble-topped table fills with meze. Copper and brass trays glint, blue-painted woodwork frames whitewashed plaster, and the concentric blue of the nazar boncuk wards the table.
This system distills that lived-in warmth into a dark, layered interface: deep indigo grounds, raki off-white text, brass-gold ornament, and Ottoman-revival serif lettering carried on real Google Fonts.
