Nakshi pitha are the patterned rice cakes of rural Bengal — cooked rice flour pressed into carved wooden moulds to leave a low floral and lattice relief on a toasted-tan surface. Alongside them sits shitalpati, the murta-cane mat weaving of Sylhet, a UNESCO-recognised craft of interlaced golden-brown.
This system translates that moulded, woven materiality into the screen: deep toasted-tan grounds, embossed lotus and sun motifs, lattice grids, and soft directional shadow that reads as impressed depth rather than flat printed pattern.
