Samoan Tatau (Pe'a)

ProMax

The pe'a is the world's densest surviving hand-tapped tattoo tradition — carbon-black geometry applied with bone combs over weeks of endurance. This design system channels that visual language: flat black fields, parallel bars, wedge triangles, and centipede repeats rendered as interface elements against a warm skin-tone canvas.

Every component carries the weight of the tufuga ta tatau's plate work — hard-edged, earned, never decorative for its own sake. The palette is strictly two-tone: soot-black and bone-cream, with no gradients, no color fills, no softness.
