Medal Ribbon Bar

This is the honours system as worn on the chest: horizontal bars of silk grosgrain ribbon and gilt five-point stars mounted on the near-black barathea wool of a dress-uniform tunic. Saturated crimson, sky-blue and white stripes pop against the serge ground, framed by crisp engraved citation lettering.

The discipline is military, not decorative. Ribbon modules sit in tight rectangular rows; stars catch metallic highlights; type is condensed and engraved, as on a roll of honour. Nothing is soft, washed-out or papery — the backdrop is woven cloth.
