Paris Match is the saturated-red banner that has crowned French newsstands since 1949 — Jean Prouvost's weekly photojournalism organ, the magazine Roland Barthes immortalised in *Mythologies*. Cream paper, a Paris-Match-red wordmark slab, and a single dramatic black-and-white or color portrait do all the work.

The look is unapologetically editorial: classical French serifs, hairline rules, generous tracking. Restraint everywhere, except for that one screaming rectangle of red. Every page reads like a cover.
