Maldivian Liye Laa Jehun Lacquer

Liye laa jehun is the Maldivian art of lathe-turned lacquerwork: funa hardwood vessels are coated in stacked layers of coloured lac, then scraped through to reveal scrolling floral motifs beneath. The dominant outer coat is deep oxblood-red, etched to expose yellow scrollwork and black detail.

This system distils that glossy three-colour craft into a digital language — oxblood grounds, lacquer-red surfaces, scraped yellow scrollwork, and the meditative concentric rhythm of the turner's lathe.

Liye laa jehun（里耶拉杰洪）是马尔代夫的车床漆器工艺：以 funa 硬木车制成器，反复叠涂多层彩漆，再刮透表层、显出底下卷曲的花卉纹样。最外层、也最主导的一层是深沉的牛血红漆，刮蚀后露出黄色卷草纹与黑色细节。

本设计系统将这门光亮的"三色漆"工艺提炼为数字语言——牛血红底色、漆红表面、刮露而出的黄色卷草纹，以及车床旋转留下的同心环带韵律。岛屿匠人只用红、黄、黑三色，却在曲线与缠枝之间织出繁复光泽。
