Lao Sinh Silk Weave

ProMax

The Lao sinh (pha sin) is a handwoven silk tube skirt, paired with the pha biang shoulder cloth, made with mat-mi weft ikat and supplementary-weft brocade. Its deep aubergine field — indigo overdyed with lac-insect red — carries lustrous silk sheen, glints of gold and silver metallic thread, and crimson accents.

This design system distills that ceremonial textile into screen language: a dark dyed-silk ground, fine gold thread-lines, mat-mi diamond and naga motifs, and symmetrical banded layouts echoing the sinh's tiered hem.
