About TeX Academic Paper
TeX/LaTeX academic paper typography is Donald Knuth's 1978 typesetting revolution, born from his frustration with phototypesetting *The Art of Computer Programming*. With Leslie Lamport's LaTeX wrapper it became the de facto standard for math, physics, and CS publication.
The aesthetic says *"this is rigorous — every glyph is engineered."* Warm paper white, Computer Modern serif, tight two-column layout with a hairline column rule, centered equations with right-flush numbers, theorem environments, bracketed citations — and no decoration at all.
