Elden Ring's interface is a fading kingdom rendered in candlelight and gilt. Thin Erdtree-gold hairlines hang in a warm black void, each menu a rubbing taken from a cracked stone tablet — wide-tracked Roman capitals pressed into shadow, tarnished bronze filigree, concentric rune circles worn smooth by an age underground. Nothing is bright. The gold is aged and greenish at the edges, closer to old leaf than to yellow, lit as if from within like a Site of Grace glowing across a dead field. This is not a game HUD but an illuminated grimoire, mourned by its own menus.
