Delft Blue Pottery

ProMax

Delft Blue is the Dutch Golden Age's tin-glazed answer to Chinese porcelain — cobalt brushstrokes on cream-white earthenware that could pass for Ming on a candle-lit table. The aesthetic says a single cobalt stroke on tin glaze is enough, restraint that nevertheless covers every inch.

This system narrows horror-vacui ornament to two colors: deep cobalt outlines and warm cream ground, with rare polychrome rust as a guest. Scalloped frames, tile-grid murals, hand-lettered serifs, and dense vignettes of windmills, ships, tulips, and herons carry the brand.
