About Desert Solar Megafield
Noor Ouarzazate is 510 MW spread over 3,000 hectares of iron-rich gravel plain at the gate of the Sahara. Noor I and II are twelve-metre parabolic troughs in long parallel rows; Noor III is a central receiver — 7,400 tracking heliostats in concentric arcs around a 250 m tower, molten salt at 565 °C, seven and a half hours of storage.
The design system reads the site the way an operator's screen does. Ground is the ochre the local pisé kasbahs are rammed from. Panels are glare-white, ruled, unfilled. Numbers are monospaced. Shadows fall hard and to one side, the way a mirror array casts at noon.
