About Direct Air Capture Plant
A direct air capture plant is a repeated object. Climeworks' Orca is eight steel collector boxes at roughly 500 t CO2/yr each, arranged in a U around a process hall, slatted across the front like large venetian blinds with twelve fans behind. Mammoth takes the same container and stacks it in pairs to ten metres, seventy-two of them.
The visual language follows the hardware: mill-finish steel, galvanized spangle, cast concrete, an earthy cladding tone chosen to settle the plant into a lava field. Numbers are permit-grade — tonnes captured, injected, mineralised at 700 m in basalt — set in mono and read as ledger rows, never as marketing claims.
