Three shafts on a Gulf promontory, two of them carrying water and one carrying only floodlights for the other two. Some 41,000 enamelled steel discs spiral across the spheres in eight shades of blue, green and grey — a mosque dome rebuilt out of industrial cladding by a Danish designer and a Swedish engineering office.
This system takes the night reading as the default, because the night reading was designed rather than imposed. Pale concrete is an accent, never the ground. Colour moves in documented steps along a ramp; pattern follows a rotational path, never a flat grid.
