About Transit Diagram (modern)
The contemporary digital transit diagram is the screen-native heir to Harry Beck's 1933 London Underground map: saturated, individually-coloured route lines locked to strict 45- and 90-degree angles, equal inter-station spacing, and crisp white interchange rings floating on a near-black ground.
It treats information as topology, not geography — distance is abstracted away so the network reads instantly. Thick rounded strokes, humanist sans labels, and flat emissive surfaces give it the calm authority of station signage rendered in pixels.
