Curaçao Handelskade Pastel

Willemstad's Handelskade is a UNESCO-listed row of Dutch colonial merchant houses painted in mandatory pastels since 1817 — mint, peach, coral, butter yellow against deep Atlantic blue. This design system captures that Dutch-Caribbean fusion: stepped-gable geometry, chalky lime-plaster surfaces, and a palette that feels like a Wes Anderson exterior under Curaçao light.

The visual language pairs period serifs with symmetric narrow-façade rhythm, white-trim crispness, and gentle harbour-salt texture. Every component echoes the waterfront's colour-coordinated absurdity — cards shaped like gabled houses, coral buttons against deep harbour blue, dividers tracing roofline silhouettes.
