Braniff (Girard)

In 1965 Alexander Girard ended the plain plane. Braniff's fleet of 727s was repainted in solid jellybean colors — orange, turquoise, ochre, lavender — one saturated hue per fuselage, no chrome, no cream. This system carries that conviction: color is not decoration laid over a neutral ground, color IS the ground. Flat blocks, the geometric "BI" mark, and Futura-clean type do the rest.
