Vietnamese Bamboo Basketry

ProMax

Vietnamese bamboo basketry is built from split-bamboo splints woven in tight radial and over-under patterns — the thúng baskets and conical nón-lá frames of delta craft villages. The splints are smoked with straw and bamboo leaves, then sealed with fish oil, deepening their golden-tan surface into a warm, smoke-browned field.

This design system distills that craft into a digital language: a mid warm tan-brown woven ground, concentric ring construction, and matte handmade texture — never pale fresh straw, never cream, always the smoke-cured weave.
