Chettinad Athangudi Tiles

Athangudi tiles are handmade cement floor tiles cast on glass and ground in oxide colours — never fired — in the village of Athangudi in Tamil Nadu. From 1900 to 1950 they paved the grand halls of Chettiar merchant mansions, their glossy geometric-floral patterns reading true against dark Burma-teak pillars and limewashed walls.

This design system rebuilds that interior in pixels: a warm teak-brown ground chosen so the oxide pigments — oxblood, ochre, mustard, teal, green — glow exactly as they do underfoot. Saturated earth tones, square tile-grid modules, and bordered medallion fields carry the craft to screen.

阿坦古迪手工水泥地砖产自印度泰米尔纳德邦的阿坦古迪村：颜料水泥在玻璃上浇铸、以氧化矿物色磨制成形，从不入窑烧制。1900 至 1950 年间，它们铺就切提纳德富商宅邸的厅堂，在缅甸柚木立柱与石灰刷白墙之间，光润的几何花卉纹样色彩纯正。

本设计系统将那座宅邸内部重现于屏幕：刻意采用温暖的柚木深棕为底色，让氧血红、赭黄、芥末黄、孔雀蓝、苔绿等氧化矿物色如脚下地砖般真实发光。系统以饱和的大地氧化色、方形拼砖模块与带边框的徽章式纹样场域，将这门工艺带入数字界面。
