About Synthetic Biology Vat Lab
Synthetic biology has two documents it cannot fake: the SBOL Visual schematic and the barcode batch label. One is a glyph language — promoters as arrows, CDSs as pentagons, terminators as T-bars, strung left to right on a single backbone line like an electronic circuit. The other is a strip of Code 39 bars, a lot number, and a biosafety level, printed on adhesive stock.
This system builds a whole interface out of those two artefacts. The ground is the cool steel-cast white of 316L vessels and schematic paper. The only saturated colour is fluorescence — 509 nm GFP emission, taken literally — and the fluorescent orange the law requires on biohazard signage.
