Suriname Maroon Tembe

The Saramaka and Ndyuka Maroons of Suriname developed tembe — a dense geometric line-carving tradition incised into tropical hardwood with knife, then highlighted with kaolin chalk-white, red ochre, and black soot. Every surface is packed edge-to-edge with interlocking S-curves, paired hooks, and bilateral symmetric scrollwork.

This design system translates that carved-wood materiality into screen: deep hardwood browns anchor the page, kaolin chalk provides text and line detail, ochre red marks primary actions, and river-clay sienna warms accent surfaces. The density and rhythm of tembe panels inform every layout decision.

苏里南萨拉马卡与恩朱卡马龙人——17世纪从荷兰种植园逃入亚马逊内陆的自我解放者后裔——在热带硬木上发展出名为"tembe"的密集几何线刻艺术。刀刻凹槽以高岭土白、赭石红、炭黑填色，图案边缘紧贴边缘，S曲线与对称钩纹层层交织。

本设计系统将木刻质感搬上屏幕：深色硬木棕为底色，高岭土白承载文字与线条细节，赭石红标记主要交互，河泥赭黄点缀强调面。tembe面板的密度与节奏贯穿每一处排版决策。
