Sámi Lavvu

ProMax

This system draws on the Sámi lavvu — the conical reindeer-hide pole tent that has sheltered Indigenous arctic herders across Sápmi for centuries. Deep indigo gákti wool anchors every surface, set against arctic snow-white and warm reindeer-hide tan, then banded with the bold woven trim (vuoddagat) that carries the red, yellow, green and blue of the Sámi flag.

Geometry comes from the tent itself: radiating poles converging at the smoke-hole apex, and the zigzag, diamond and stripe motifs of hand-woven band trim used as borders and dividers. This is plain woollen craft, not courtly ornament — flat saturated colour blocks edged with bright woven bands, never pastel and never washed out.
