Retro-Futurism (Syd Mead)

Syd Mead's Retro-Futurism is the future the 1980s imagined — neon-lit megacities, chrome flying cars, holographic billboards, and rain-soaked dystopian streets. As "visual futurist" for Blade Runner, Tron, and Aliens, Mead painted tomorrows so meticulous that every rivet, every sodium streetlamp, and every reflection on wet asphalt was accounted for.

This system speaks in deep steel-blue nights cut by neon cyan and artificial amber. Surfaces reflect rather than matte; edges glow rather than rest; typography is engineered and precise. The mood is magnificent and terrifying in equal measure — the future as a city you can almost smell.
