About Serlio Architectural Orders
Serlio's *Regole generali* took the five orders off the scaffold and onto one printed page, ranked Tuscan to Composite, every dimension a fraction of the column diameter. The plates are woodcut: black outline, parallel hatching, no colour on the sheet.
This system reads that page literally. Tone comes from line density, never from fill. Rules divide; nothing is boxed or shadowed. Roman capitals label, chancery italic annotates, and the paper stays the pale leaf it always was.
