Rauschenberg Combine (1955)

ProMax

Robert Rauschenberg's Combines tore apart the boundary between painting and sculpture by literally pasting the street onto the canvas. Working from his Pearl Street studio in Lower Manhattan, Rauschenberg attached newspaper clippings, tires, stuffed animals, and housepaint drips to Abstract Expressionist grounds — creating a visual language of collage maximalism where high art and gutter detritus coexist on the same surface.

This design system channels that raw, layered energy: ink-black studio grounds, paper-offset shadows, competing typefaces ripped from different decades, and dense overlapping surfaces that refuse to sit still. Nothing is precious. Everything is material.
