Marionette Theater

Marionette Theater stages design as Bohemian puppeteers once staged folk tales: a carved wooden proscenium framing a velvet-curtained world, lit by a single warm spotlight cutting through near-black shadow. Theatre-curtain red, gilt ornament, and aged-wood ochre carry a handmade, storytelling warmth.

It descends from the touring puppet families of the Czech lands — Matěj Kopecký's legendary troupe and the Prague National Marionette Theatre — where every figure was hand-carved, hand-painted, and suspended on strings before a draped stage.
