Malagan Carving

Malagan funerary carvings from northern New Ireland are intricate polychrome figures and friezes cut from dark wood as pierced openwork — a filigree of interlocking forms made for mortuary feasts. Their fronts are painted in black, orange-red ochre, and white lime, with inset Turbo-shell opercula set as glinting eyes.

This design system translates that three-colour scheme over carved wood into an interface language: a near-black ground beneath dense pierced detail, ochre and lime accents reading as flat matte paint, and shell-eye highlights that catch the light.

马拉根（Malagan）丧葬雕刻来自巴布亚新几内亚新爱尔兰岛北部，是为悼亡盛宴制作的镂空木雕——艺人在深色硬木上层层透雕出彼此咬合的人形与纹饰，宛如花丝。雕像正面以黑、橙红赭石与白色石灰三色绘成，眼睛嵌入泛光的圆螺壳片。

本设计系统将"深色木地 + 三色彩绘"的传统转译为界面语言：以近黑的雕木为底，其上是密集的镂空细节；赭石与石灰作为平涂哑光的彩绘色块，螺壳般的高光点缀其间，让整套界面在暗处仍透出手工雕琢的庄重与温度。
