Bruder Klaus Field Chapel

The Bruder Klaus Field Chapel by Peter Zumthor is a small concrete chapel near Wachendorf, Germany. Its interior is a scorched charcoal-black cavity: 112 tree trunks were stacked as formwork, rammed concrete was cast around them, then the timber was burned out, leaving a ribbed, sooty void lit by a single open oculus.

This design system distills that charred interior — near-black walls with warm sooty browns in the ribbing, a single warm light shaft, and hand-blown glass studs glowing against the dark. Austere modern grotesque sans throughout, no ornament, no decoration.

布鲁德·克劳斯田野教堂出自建筑师彼得·卒姆托之手，坐落于德国瓦亨多夫附近的田野中。其内部是一处经火焰灼烧的炭黑色空腔：112 根树干被堆叠成模板，夯实的混凝土浇筑其外，随后木材被缓慢焚尽，留下一道布满肋纹、覆着烟煤的近黑色空洞，仅由顶部一个开放的天眼采光。

本设计系统提炼了这处焦黑内部的气质——近黑色的墙体、肋纹中温暖的烟煤褐、唯一一束温暖的光井，以及在黑暗中微微发亮的手工吹制玻璃星点。通体采用克制的现代无衬线字体，没有装饰，没有纹样，只有材料本身的庄重与沉静。
