Nubian House Blue (Aswan)

Along the Nile near Aswan, Nubian villagers limewash their domed and vaulted mud-brick homes in saturated sky-cyan and turquoise, edge the openings in cobalt, and dot the walls with white folk symbols — camels, palms, and geometric bands. The wall itself is the ground: bright, friendly, hand-painted, never dark and never cream. Warm counterpoints arrive as saffron doors, terracotta staircases, and brick-red trim.
