Moroccan Amazigh Berber Rug

Amazigh rugs are North Africa's most personally expressive women's weaving — for centuries Berber women on vertical looms have inscribed their autobiographies into undyed wool using a pictographic vocabulary of diamonds, zigzags, snakes, scorpions, and evil-eyes inherited matrilineally.

The canonical look: sheep-cream ground, sparse charcoal diamonds, asymmetric improvisational composition, deep shaggy pile. Sub-traditions diverge boldly — Boujad saffron, Zemmour vermilion, Beni Mguild indigo — each tribe its own chord, never a formal pattern rule.
