About Lonely Planet

Lonely Planet started as a stapled pamphlet run off in Melbourne in 1973 and grew into the guidebook series whose blue spines lined a generation of backpacks. Its pages were working documents: thin uncoated stock, black ink plus one spot blue, and a serif text measure tight enough to fit a whole country.

This system keeps that page. Source Serif 4 carries the reading, Archivo and its narrow cut label maps and spines, Roboto Condensed sets fares and opening hours, and hairline rules divide every listing.
