About ISO Technical Drawing
ISO technical drawing is a typographic system written down as law. ISO 5457 fixes the sheet and its frame, ISO 128 grades line types and widths on the same 1:√2 progression as the paper, and ISO 3098 sets the lettering down to a stroke of h/14. Nothing on the sheet is chosen for looks; every weight is a signal an engineer has to be able to read.
This system keeps that discipline. The page is tracing stock, the ink is near-black, and the drawing stays monochrome. Colour arrives only as the ISO 9175-1 pen code — the caps on a set of tubular nibs — used to key layers, widths and legends, never to decorate a surface.
