About Irma Boom Book Objects
Irma Boom builds books the way other people build objects. The SHV Think Book is a 2,136-page white-cloth brick on cotton paper she developed herself, with no page numbers, no contents and no index — and a tulip field printed into the fore-edge.
Chanel N°5 Culture uses no ink at all: 300 pages of blind letterpress, images pressed into white. This system takes that literally. Paper is the surface, black is the only reading contrast, red appears once, and every impression of depth is stamped rather than floated.
