The Reserve Bank of India's Mahatma Gandhi New Series ₹100 note prints Gandhi's intaglio portrait, the Ashoka pillar emblem, and a Rani ki Vav stepwell vignette onto lavender cotton banknote paper. Taken at its true saturated reading rather than washed-out pale, the ground is a stone-purple lavender carried by fine engraved cross-hatch.
This design system renders that security-print craft for the screen: a deeper-lavender ground, guilloché and intaglio line-work, latent-image panels, and saffron-and-green accents under bilingual Devanagari and English type.
