Herbarium Sheet

The herbarium sheet is the quiet workhorse of systematic botany: a pressed plant flattened, dried, and stitched to heavy archival stock beside a typed determination label. Its palette is what seventy years does to manila — buff toned darker, foxed with rust speckle, the foliage faded from living green to a muted olive and drying-brown.

This system treats the page as a mounting sheet, not a screen. Content is strapped down with linen and thread; data lives in typed catalog fields and handwritten-era serif. Nothing is bright, nothing is crisp white — it reads as a working archive that has survived a century of handling.
