About Glacier Blanket Project
Each spring a crew unrolls white nonwoven geotextile across bare glacier ice — 5 m × 70 m sheets, 500 g/m², 4 mm thick, sewn together and held down with sandbags and stones. In autumn they strip it off again. On Presena the covered field grew from 40,000 m² in 2014 to over 110,000 m² by 2021.
This system is built from that job. The fabric is the page: matte, felted, faintly grey-green white. Glacier blue appears only where sheets part and the ice shows. Measurements sit in mono, tables are wide and ruled, and Swiss red is spent once — on the figure that should alarm you.
