Gaudí Modernisme is the kaleidoscopic world of Park Güell's trencadís — mosaics of broken glazed ceramic in turquoise, cobalt, and gold, clad over serpentine benches and biomorphic columns. Every form undulates; nothing runs straight. The colour rides on a ground of warm Montjuïc honey-sandstone, the masonry the mosaics were built into.
This system rebuilds Antoni Gaudí and Josep Maria Jujol's exuberant Mediterranean craft: catenary curves, irregular tessellation, glazed-tile reflectivity. It is maximal, handmade, and joyous — never the cold geometry or muted minimalism that Modernisme set itself against.
