Fire Brigade Shield

The American leather fire-helmet frontpiece is a stacked, hand-painted leather shield worn beneath a brass eagle finial since the 1820s–30s. A black or oxblood leather field carries gold-leaf company numbers, the company and city name, and gilded scroll borders.

This system distills that badge into a public-service livery: high-contrast fire red and gold leaf on lacquered black leather, heavy slab numerals, arched name banners, and riveted heraldic edges. It reads as worn, civic, and earned.

美式皮革消防头盔的前徽（frontpiece），是一块层层叠压、手绘上漆的皮革盾牌，自 1820—30 年代起便戴在黄铜鹰饰之下。黑色或牛血红的皮面上，烫印着金箔的中队编号、 中队与城市名，以及描金的卷草边饰——这是 20 世纪初城市消防勤务最经典的徽记。

本设计把这枚徽章提炼成一套公共勤务的视觉语言：在上漆的黑皮地子上，用高对比的 消防红与金箔，配厚重的板状字号、拱形名牌横幅与铆钉镶边。它看上去是磨损的、市政的、 靠服役挣来的——不是装饰，而是身份。
