DIN 1451 Signage

DIN 1451 is the typeface of the German road: machine-drawn, grid-built, and engineered for legibility at autobahn speed since 1936. Its world is the matte enamel signboard in machine gray, ruled into a strict modular grid and carrying traffic-white type with the saturated RAL traffic-color system.

This is design without an author — rationalist, mechanical, deliberately impersonal. Registration marks, ruled baselines, panel framing, and arrow glyphs replace ornament. Nothing curves for pleasure; every form serves a standard.

DIN 1451 是德国公路的字体——1936 年起由制图机按网格绘制，为高速行驶下的辨识度 而生。它用在高速公路指示牌、车牌和门牌上，是工业标准化的产物，冷峻、机械、刻意 地不带个人色彩。

这套体系的底色是一块哑光珐琅指示牌的机器灰，被严格的模数网格切分，承载着交通白 的字与饱和的 RAL 交通色系。没有装饰、没有渐变、没有有机曲线——只有定位标记、标尺 基线、黑色面板框与箭头符号。每一笔都为标准服务，而非为作者服务。
