Ladislav Sutnar was the Czech-American pioneer of information design and art director of Sweet's Catalog (1941–60), where he turned thousands of industrial product listings into navigable systems. His signature is a strict red-and-black palette printed on clean white, with modular grids, tabs, arrows, and his trademark parentheses used as wayfinding marks.
This system distills that discipline into digital form: a cool catalog-white ground, catalog vermilion as the single accent, geometric sans type, and a flat, crisp surface where hierarchy is built from grid, numerals, and indexing marks rather than ornament.
