Cellarius Celestial Atlas

The Harmonia Macrocosmica, printed in Amsterdam in 1660, is the most lavish celestial atlas of the Baroque age — twenty-nine double-folio plates of gold stars and gilt constellation lines laid over a deep ultramarine night sky. Zodiac beasts and concentric celestial spheres sit inside ornate engraved cartouches. This system rebuilds that gilt-on-lapis splendour: warm gold linework against saturated night blue, elegant Garamond serifs, and Latin captions set in Cardo.
