Brazil is Terry Gilliam's 1985 retro-dystopia — the Ministry of Information rendered as a drab, monochromatic gray-green bureaucracy choked with corrugated ductwork and lit by cold fluorescents. It is a 1940s art-deco world warped by pneumatic-tube clutter, magnifier-lensed CRTs bolted over typewriters, and endless manila paperwork.
This design system distills that somber, cramped, busy machine-state into an interface language: sooty concrete grounds, grimy painted metal, stamped-form density, and warmth that lives only in aged manila and ochre filing — never in the air itself.
