Hauran Basalt Stone

ProMax

The Hauran plateau and the city of Bosra are built almost entirely of black basalt — a charcoal-gray vesicular volcanic stone whose somber, weighty tones "induce monotony." Dry-laid ashlar walls, hewn stone doors, and the Roman Theatre at Bosra all rise from this single dark material.

This system distills that masonry into a near-monochrome digital language: cool charcoal grounds, carved shadow lines, monumental inscribed capitals, and the heavy rectilinear rhythm of dry-laid stone blocks.
