This is the siege-fortress look of Attack on Titan as Wit Studio's 2013 anime cast it — a walled-in world painted in wall-stone gray, khaki maneuver-gear leather, and the blue-and-white Wings of Freedom crest. Everything reads like a garrison inventory carved into the base of a colossal wall: monumental engraved caps, desaturated military drab, cracked stone texture, hairline-ruled ledgers of who lived and who did not.
There is no cuteness here. The palette is dread and duty, the layout is a war archive, and the one splash of color is the crest and the flare of a signal. Color is rationed like ammunition — a single steel-blue insignia stamped on every page, and an alarm flare of oxidized red held strictly for casualties. The walls have held for a hundred years, and today one of them cracked.
