Demon Slayer (2019)

ProMax

A design system pulled from the 2019 ufotable anime: Taisho-era Japan rendered on inky pine-black grounds, pine-green ichimatsu checkers, and water that moves like a Hokusai print set on fire. The load-bearing motif is that green-and-black checkered haori — a rigid grid of squares that reads as costume, pattern, and structure at once. Against it, teal water-breathing crests curl, hanafuda earrings hang red and white, and Zenitsu-gold lightning cracks the dark. Flat decorative textile discipline meets the neon bloom of digital sakuga: restrained pattern, then a sudden saturated slash. Everything sits on near-black; color arrives like an effect animation, never as wallpaper.
