Albanian Bunkers — Cover

About Albanian Bunkers

Albania poured roughly 173,000 concrete bunkers between 1967 and 1986 — hilltops, beaches, farmland, the ends of city streets. The standard QZ firing position is a three-metre hemispherical dome with a single slit; the PZ command bunker runs eight metres across and weighs up to 400 tons.

They were never painted. This system takes them at face value: pale weathered grey, olive growth creeping up the shaded third, one black slit, stencil numbers, and the same form repeating to the horizon.
