Admiralty Sea Chart

British Admiralty charts, engraved from the Hydrographic Office founded in 1795, set the standard of 19th-century maritime cartography. Black engraved coastlines, depth soundings and fine lettering sit over a pale aqua-tinted water field, with buff land, muted-green drying areas, and ornate compass roses ruled with the rhumb lines of magnetic variation.

This system rebuilds the chart's reading ground: not bare paper but the documented pale chart-water tint, worked in fine engraved line and hatching. Everything is drawn — coastlines hachured, soundings set as small serif numerals, hazards dotted, and lights and special marks flagged in a single note of magenta.

英国海军部海图自 1795 年成立的海道测量局以铜版刻制，确立了十九世纪海事制图的标准。墨黑的 刻线海岸、水深数字与细密字体，铺在一片淡水绿的"图水"底色之上；陆地是浅黄褐色，干出滩为 柔和的绿，配上以磁差罗盘线放射的华丽罗经花。

这套设计系统重建海图的阅读底——不是裸露的白纸，而是有据可查的淡水绿图水色，全程以细刻线与 晕滃绘成。海岸线用短线晕滃、水深以小号衬线数字标注、暗礁以虚点警示，灯标与特殊标记则只用 一抹品红点出。绝不出现奶白或纯白底色。
