Yemeni Jambiya Curved Dagger

ProMax

The jambiya is the curved dagger worn at every Yemeni man's waist — not a weapon but a social certificate: family, tribe, standing, all readable in the handle's material and the scabbard's silver work. This design system draws from the lamp-lit silver souqs of old Sanaa, where Yemeni Jewish silversmiths filed filigree by oil-light for three centuries before Operation Magic Carpet emptied their workshops in 1949.

The palette is nocturnal and tactile: indigo-black cloth, butter-yellow saifani horn, oxidized silver that catches light at odd angles. Typography pairs geometric Reem Kufi titling with Amiri body text — inscription meeting manuscript. Every surface carries the patina of handled metal and oiled horn.
