Voyager Golden Record

The Voyager Golden Record is a gold-plated copper phonograph disc launched in 1977 aboard Voyager 1 and 2 — a message in a bottle cast into interstellar space. Chaired by Carl Sagan, the committee engraved an aluminum cover with a pulsar map, a hydrogen-atom diagram, and playback instructions, all in compass-precise line art.

This design system distills that artifact: a single luminous warm-gold disc floating on the black void, paired with geometric NASA-diagram lettering and sparse, ruler-drawn engravings. Gold on black, never cream — matte, scientific, and silent.
