Vesalius Anatomy — Cover

About Vesalius Anatomy

In 1543 Andreas Vesalius published *De humani corporis fabrica*, the book that turned anatomy into an observed science. Its muscle-men — flayed écorchés in theatrical poses — stand against a continuous Euganean-hills landscape, cut in carbon-bistre woodcut line by Titian's workshop and pressed by Oporinus in Basel. This system rebuilds that page: warm near-black ink, dense crosshatch modeling, humanist Roman capitals, and the aged warm gray-tan of laid rag paper.
