Tokamak Confinement Deck — Cover

About Tokamak Confinement Deck

This is the surface of a fusion control room: a dim navy wall of diagnostic panels, cyan instrument hairlines, and Noon Yellow reserved for the one number that matters. Poloidal cross-sections, Q-value readouts, coil currents and disruption banners are packed edge to edge, with no outer margin and nothing decorative between them.

The plasma is the only warm object on the deck, and it is magenta because a deuterium discharge photographs magenta — D-alpha at 656.3 nm folded into H-beta at 486 nm. Everything else stays instrument-cold. Numbers are tabular, alarms are literal, and the grid never softens.
